Got my GPZ back from the garage today - total bill £1100. It does sound a lot better now and hopefully it will also run well - but I will have to wait until the weather changes to find that out. Here is a page detailing all the costs so far with the GPZ.

Yet more bad news with the GPZ - it turns out as well as the cam chain and tensioner, it also needs new cam shafts - these are not cheap. So it's in the garage at moment - I'm dreading the bill.

My neighbour Janis has got herself a new bike - here is is - loverly.

Just been over to my brothers to see his new bike. He's bought an old Yamaha RD350LC which is currently a kind of LC/GPz/FZ cross. He is hoping to put it back to standard but, as you can see here, he's got his work cut out!

Met up with a few folk from GBBikers again today over at Squires in Sherburn in Elment. It was misty with lots of drizzle when we set off so we went on Janes bike - but once we got to Leeds the weather was fine - a nice ride out! Here are some piccies.

Did the Captain Cook rally as usual this weekend - it was a very good do - with the exception of me forgetting the tent poles meaning I had to ride back to Bradford and then back to Whitby on Friday night - Nig and Jane finally managed to get our tent up at about 10:30pm, cheers our kid, while I tried to make up for lost time in the pub! Here are the pictures.

Got a really good deal at Halfords today - 300 piece toolbox for £40 !! Here are some piccies of it - I didn't need all the tools but I thought it was worth it for the box alone.

The GPZ is still not on the road :( - had the headstock bearings done on my GPZ today - hopefully should be able to get it MOTed next week and finally ride the bloody thing.

Had the GPz at a local bike shop today - Motostrade - for the fork seals doing and they offered to look at the carbs as well. The gizza worked till 8:50pm to get it right - but get it right he did - and they didn't charge me an arm and a leg to do it. I'm really happy now - had my first ride on it running right and it seems fine. This GPZ is proving to be a bit of an emotional rollercoaster!

Bloody sodding GPz is really pissing me off.

I've had the carbs off, cleaned them out, replaced the float needle valves and gaskets. Put them back on the bike and it fired on 4 - but smoked a lot - but when we took it off choke it went back onto 3 and started pissing petrol everwhere again. It seems to only leak petrol from 1 and 2 and only off the choke.

I don't know what the problem is but I am beginning to feel it will cost me a lot of money - and that is something I don't have at the moment. I have to decide whether to try and stick with it or cut my losses now.

Had a fantasic ride out with a group from GBBikers - here are the pictures.

Finally got the replacement for the XJ900 - it's a 1988 GPZ900R and it's been very hard work to get - you wouldn't believe the problems I've had! Anyway got it today and unfortunately I have a couple of problems to sort out. It isn't firing on one cylinder, think the carbs are sticking, and the fork seals have gone. Other than that I'm very happy with the bike. Here are a couple of pictures.

Had a ride out to Rivington Barn near Bolton today - terrible ride out - we chose the completely wrong route which took us through loads of towns and villages and NO open roads. Very tedious. Anyway the place was nice when we got there - here are the pictures.

Had a ride out this evening - loverly night - even sun was misty so it didnt' get in your eyes - perfect. Here are the pictures.

My ZX7R is on the road!! I got a road legal Micron end can - and it sounds amazing - I can't believe it's road legal. It even has a removable baffle for track days!! Pictures

ZX7R is very nearly read to roll - going to MOT and tax it next week - updated pictures.

02-Apr-2005
My ZX7R is getting very near to being complete. Shame it wasn't ready today as the weather has been lovely - everybody else was out on their bikes and I was stuck in the garage repairing mine :(. Anyhow - here are the pictures of the 7R.

Today we met up with Soup, Mr Soup, JayB1000RR4 and Mrs Jay from the GBBikers Forum for the Sewer Rats Easter Egg Run. Here are the pictures.

As with everything I do - buying the XJs replacement is not going all that smoothly - but never mind, it's snowing at the moment so hardly biking weather anyway.

I've added a guestbook to the home page so please feel free to leave a message!

Sold the XJ to my brother this weekend as I decided it wasn't worth spending the amount of money that was needed on it. I delivered it to Scunthorpe on Sunday and had a horrible ride over - very cold, windy, and it snowed - I remember now why I'm a fair-weather biker!

I'm in the process of purchasing it's replacement and I'll update this with more information if all goes well.
